When Danish-Italian duo GamFratesi first saw Ferréol Babin’s ‘Lunaire’ lamp in Florence, they were struck by its clarity. A perfect circle, inspired by a lunar eclipse, it captured light in a way that felt both simple and daring. “It stood out and definitely added something to the collection,” recalls Enrico Fratesi.
Within months, the young French designer had won a Designs of the Year award in London, a Red Dot honourable mention and a place at Fabrica, Benetton’s experimental design centre. Published in Frame, the international design magazine, we traced Babin’s fast rise through the eyes of GamFratesi.
